Job summary

RNN Group is recruiting for an Apprenticeship Skills Tutor – Plumbing at Rotherham College. This full-time role (37 hours/week) involves delivering engaging plumbing sessions, mentoring apprentices, and conducting on-site assessments across South Yorkshire.

The salary ranges from £33,487 to £38,487 with benefits, and includes travel between sites as required. You’ll report to the Work-Based Learning Team Leader and work with Curriculum Managers to support learners and employer partners.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in Plumbing and/or Gas engineering.
• Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of learners and partner organisations.
• Role requires mentoring, coaching and industry expertise.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging sessions that bridge workshop and site.
• Develop Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) for apprentices.
• Conduct on-site performance reviews and assessments and track progress using e-portfolios.

What You’ll Bring to the Bench

We value your hands‑on experience as much as your paperwork. We’re looking for:

• Industry Roots: Solid experience in Plumbing and/or Gas engineering.
• Trade Credentials: An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant plumbing trade.
• The Right Tools: An A1/V1 Assessor Award and a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or the drive to work toward them with our support!).
• People Skills: The ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of learners and partner organisations.
