Job summary

RNN Group is seeking an Apprenticeship Skills Tutor Plumbing to lead practical plumbing training at Rotherham College, with occasional offsite travel within South Yorkshire.

The role focuses on transforming learners into skilled plumbers and gas engineers through engaging, industry-informed teaching and rigorous assessments.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in plumbing or equivalent.
• A1/V1 Assessor Award.
• Level 5 Teaching Qualification or commitment to work toward it with support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver creative, engaging sessions that bring plumbing to life in workshop and on-site settings.
• Develop Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) to meet employer needs.
• Conduct on-site performance reviews and assessments to ensure high standards.
• Track learner progress through e-portfolios and maintain clear records.

Salary: £33,487 (unqualified teacher/assessor) to £38,487 (qualified teacher/assessor) a year with benefits

What You’ll Bring to the Bench

We value your hands-on experience as much as your paperwork. We re looking for:

• Industry Roots: Solid experience in Plumbing and/or Gas engineering.
• Trade Credentials: An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant plumbing trade.
• The Right Tools: An A1/V1 Assessor Award and a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or the drive to work toward them with our support!).
• People Skills: The ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of learners and partner organisations.

You ll report to the Work-Based Learning Team Leader, working alongside a collaborative team of Curriculum Managers and Lecturers. We pride ourselves on being flexible, proactive and, most importantly, student-focused.
