Job summary

RNN Group invites applications for an Electrical Apprenticeship Skills Tutor to train the next generation of electrical engineers at North Notts College with offsite working and subsidised travel expenses.

You will assess progress, mentor apprentices, and collaborate with the Work Based Learning department to ensure a high-quality learner experience and successful qualifications.

Qualifications

  • a relevant industry NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or higher
  • an A1/V1/CAVA Assessors Award (or equivalent)
  • excellent IT skills
  • teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • IQA Award is desirable
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake)

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and guide enthusiastic learners starting their careers.
  • Coach apprentices from their first day to full qualification.
  • Collaborate within a supportive team environment.
  • Guide apprentices through their Electrical Standards and assessments.
  • Conduct on-site performance reviews and workplace assessments.

What you will do:


  • Make a difference: Inspire and guide enthusiastic learners starting their careers.

You will…

You will need to be a confident assessor/tutor who can engage with a wide variety of learners and bring the subject matter to life in a creative and engaging way. You will also need to hold:



  • a relevant industry NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or higher

  • an A1/V1/CAVA Assessors Award (or equivalent)

  • excellent IT skills

  • teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain)

  • IQA Award is desirable

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake).

Your role in the department

As part of the department of Work based Learning you will report directly to the Curriculum Team Leader/Curriculum Manager. You will play an active role in the curriculum team, working with key stakeholders such as Curriculum Team Leaders, Curriculum Manager, and Curriculum Lecturers etc.


You will also build good working relationships with other key stakeholders in apprenticeship programmes such as the Functional Skills Team.
