Job summary

Rotherham College, part of the RNN Group, is seeking a Plumbing Apprenticeship Skills Tutor to inspire and mentor apprentices in plumbing and gas engineering. The role is full-time, based at Rotherham with travel across South Yorkshire.

You will deliver engaging sessions, develop KSBs, conduct on-site assessments, and track progress using e-portfolios. The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 3 in plumbing, A1/V1 assessor, and a Level 5 teaching qualification, with strong learner relationships.

Qualifications

• Industry experience in Plumbing and/or Gas engineering.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in plumbing.
• A1/V1 Assessor Award and a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or the drive to work toward them with our support).
• Strong relationships with a diverse range of learners and partner organisations.

Responsibilities

Hours: Full time (37 hours per week, all year round)

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £33,487 (unqualified teacher/assessor) to £38,487 (qualified teacher/assessor) a year with benefits

Location: Rotherham College, Rotherham (with offsite travel within South Yorkshire and surrounding areas)

What You'll Bring to the Bench

We value your hands‑on experience as much as your paperwork. We're looking for:

• Industry Roots: Solid experience in Plumbing and/or Gas engineering.
• Trade Credentials: An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant plumbing trade.
• The Right Tools: An A1/V1 Assessor Award and a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or the drive to work toward them with our support!).
• People Skills: The ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of learners and partner organisations.
