Job summary

Leicester City Council based at City Hall in Leicester is seeking an Apprentice Transport Professional to join the Major Transport Projects and Central Capital Team. You will support design engineers and project managers on highway, civil engineering schemes and public realm improvements.

This full-time role offers 37 hours per week, opportunities to work from home, and a pathway to develop your own schemes while gaining hands-on experience across surveys, data analysis and cost calculations.

Qualifications

• Organised with ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient IT skills; producing letters, presentations and spreadsheets.
• Desirable familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Assist design engineers and project managers on highway and civil schemes.
• Learn highway design, carry out surveys, analyse data and gather inputs.
• Attend meetings, take minutes and support budgeting via the council's finance system.
