Job summary

OPmobility in the UK is offering a Lean manufacturing operative (Level 2) apprenticeship. The role covers material handling, raw and regrind materials, and maintaining traceability within the production process.

Training through NORTH WARRICKSHIRE AND SOUTH LEICESTERSHIRE COLLEGE ensures progression to the Level 3 Manufacturing apprenticeship. Rotation across shift patterns provides practical exposure in a fast-paced automotive parts environment.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English, Maths and Science at grade 4 or above.
  • Interest in lean manufacturing and engineering apprenticeships.
  • Good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Keep day bins supplied with material ( virgin and regrind ).
  • Collect required material from raw material tent.
  • Enter traceability numbers for regrind in the database.
  • Update incoming raw material database to show consumption.
  • Dispose of empty octobins and store remaining for regrind production.
  • Change material supply per production plan and react to supply problems.
  • Update Mattec to show downtime reasons as they are identified.
  • Place suspect material in quarantine and label to protect production.

Introduction

Depending on the area you will be working as part of our technical team in the paint mix room, injection or material handling area.

What You'll Do
  • Keep day bins supplied with material, virgin and regrind
  • Collect required material from raw material tent
  • When using regrind, the traceability numbers must be entered into the regrind traceability injection database to show consumption
  • When using virgin material the incoming raw material database must be updated to show consumption
  • Old unusable octobins once empty must be disposed of using the compactor
  • The remaining empty octobins are to be stored for regrind production
  • Change material supply according to the production plan
  • React to any material feed supply problems to ensure there is no production downtime to material feed issues
  • Update Mattec to show downtime reasons once they are identified
  • Any suspect material to be placed in the quarantine area and labelled to ensure production is protected
  • Database updated
  • 5's standards are maintained
