Job summary

PowerToFly is seeking a production operative on a fixed-term contract up to 24 months in Daventry, United Kingdom. The role involves rotating shifts, with mornings and afternoons, 37.5 hours per week, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on the production line.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety by reporting hazards and incidents promptly.
  • Promote health standards using PPE and following HSE guidelines.
  • Follow quality procedures and perform inspections for quality output.
  • Identify and control non-conforming materials to reduce waste.
  • Operate equipment efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Keep work area clean and perform routine maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with team and support staff.
  • Engage in training and improvement initiatives to enhance processes.

Job description

This is a fixed term contract up to 24 months, with the potential for a permanent contract.

Working 37.5 hours per week on a weekly rotating shift pattern of:

  • Mornings: Monday to Friday 6.45am – 2.45pm
  • Afternoons: Monday to Friday 3.00pm – 11.00pm

  • Meeting Production Goals: Operating equipment efficiently and achieving production targets will contribute to the company’s overall success.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping your work area clean and performing routine maintenance will ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
  • Collaborating Effectively: Communicating with your team and support staff will foster a cooperative and productive work environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engaging in training and actively participating in improvement initiatives will help enhance processes and personal development.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Accountability: Hold yourself and others accountable to meet commitments, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and on time.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Demonstrate a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and applications, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Attention to Detail: Follow procedures meticulously to ensure quality and accuracy, quickly identify and address quality issues, and minimize downtime.
  • Although not required as training will be provided, candidates with experience operating any PIV help to contribute to a safe, more efficient and productive workplace.
  • Time Keeping: Delivering material in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and keeping the production line running smoothly.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively within the Materials team and across departments. Communicate clearly about processes, issues, and safety concerns.
  • PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) Experience.
