Job summary

Speedy Hire, based in Ellesmere Port, is offering an Apprentice Lifting Engineer role within its depot operations. You will learn on the job and benefit from a structured three-year training programme, progressing through Level 3 Lifting Technician apprenticeship and in-house lifting training.

Year 1–2 cover the Level 3 apprenticeship and EPA, followed by Year 3 with enhanced training. You may need block placements at other sites and college, with GCSE English and Maths required.

Qualifications

• Must hold GCSE 4/C in English and Maths or Level 2 Functional Skills.
• Enrolment in Speedy's Level 3 Lifting Technician apprenticeship and EPA.
• Three-year structured training programme including in-house lifting training.

Responsibilities

• Apprentice will be based in Ellesmere Port, working with engineers to learn on the job.
• Attend block placements at college and other sites as required.
• Develop skills to become a fully qualified lifting engineer by year three.

Based in Ellesmere Port as an Apprentice Lifting Engineer, you will be an important part of depot operations and a key player in keeping the workshop productive meaning equipment is always available for our customers to ensure their experience with us is positive and we continue to be the best hire company in the industry.

You will take part in our structured three year training programme. During this time you will be trained by our knowledgeable and experienced colleagues along with attending block placements with our college provider.

Programme Overview

Year 1/2: Completion of a Level 3 Lifting Technician apprenticeship standard and associated End Point Assessment (EPA)

Year 3: Completion of Speedy's in-house lifting training programme.

When you are not in college completing your formal qualifications, you will be based in Ellesmere Port full time learning from our experienced engineers and practicing your skills ready to be signed off as a fully qualified engineer at the end of year 3.

• Please note that you must hold a a minimum of GCSE Grade 4/Grade C or above in English and Mathematics or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English in order to be considered for this apprenticeship.**
