About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn within a dynamic educational environment. As an IT Technician Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced staff to provide first-line support across the academy. You will play a key role in minimising disruption to learning by ensuring our hardware and software are functioning correctly. From setting up equipment for lessons to troubleshooting technical glitches, you will gain hands‑on experience and valuable qualifications in a supportive setting.
Responsibilities
Installation & Maintenance: Under guidance, install, maintain, and repair computer hardware and software, conducting regular checks to ensure ICT areas are fully operational.
User Support: Provide first-line support to staff and students, setting up equipment and resolving technical issues quickly to minimise disruption to learning.
System Integrity: Maintain system security and efficiency by managing backups, archiving files, and following strict user protocols.
Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure adherence to ICT policies, particularly regarding internet usage and safeguarding, and report any concerns immediately.
A minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 in Maths and English is preferred but not essential, as this can be completed during the apprenticeship.
