Job summary

West Mercia Police is seeking an Apprentice - Infrastructure Technician (Level 3) for an 18-month fixed term contract. The role is hybrid (home & office) with a 37-hour week and provides a structured training programme to develop ICT infrastructure skills.

The post involves supporting network, hardware and software services across the force, contributing to a high-quality ICT service for internal and external customers.

The main purpose of the role is to work flexibly within the Technical Support Team or Solutions Delivery Team, contributing to an efficient and effective ICT Service, ensuring a quality end to end ICT Service to West Mercia Police.

To assist in providing a high level of technical support (relevant to role level) across West Mercia Police, both to internal customers and to external customers.

To contribute to innovative solutions in order to ensure the department is offering the best level of service in terms of services and equipment.

This includes working on the network, hardware and software in support of the delivery of all agreed ICT services.

• The Apprentice - Infrastructure Technician – Level 3 role is a hybrid (mix of home & office working)
• Fixed term contract for 18 months from start date
• 37 hours per week
• Applicants must have resided in the UK for a continuous period of at least 5 years immediately prior to submitting their application. This is to ensure a checkable history that satisfies the Management Vetting (MV) / Security Check (SC) standards required for this post
