Job summary

Volvo Trucks is offering an Apprentice HGV Technician role based in London South (Croydon). The apprenticeship runs for 32 months with a 40-hour week, starting May or August 2027.

Training combines on-the-job work with Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby, including block releases and IMI qualifications. You will learn to diagnose faults, repair vehicles to Volvo standards, and support parts, warranty, and workshop operations while attending college courses.

Qualifications

• GCSE A*-C (Math and English) required.
• Interest in heavy vehicles and mechanical systems.
• Willingness to learn in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs using Volvo standards and tools.
• Assist in fault diagnosis process.
• Learn warranty procedures and document repairs.
• Work with parts team to ensure correct replacement parts.
• Learn to use Volvo special tools safely.
• Attend college courses regularly.
• Complete job cards accurately.
