Job summary

GTG Training are recruiting for an Apprentice Heavy Mechanic at a local independent garage in Kirkcaldy. You will work full time, earn while you learn, and gain hands-on experience in vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, and major component work.

The program combines week-long blocks at the training centre with in-work assessments to ensure you gain the SCQF Level 7 in Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicle maintenance and repair. A driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Must have National 4 English and Maths.
• Science or Technical subject required.
• Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Learn all aspects of vehicle servicing and maintenance.
• Assist with MOT preparation and component work.
• Diagnose and repair engine, brakes and electrical faults.
• Isolate and re-energise high voltage systems on EVs.
