Job summary

GTG Training Limited is recruiting an Apprentice Heavy Mechanic to gain hands-on experience in a garage environment while working towards formal qualifications. You will cover servicing, MOT preparation, diagnostics, and component overhauls under expert supervision.

You will train through GTG to SCQF Level 7 in Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, combining workplace learning with block-release study.

Qualifications

• Must have or expect to gain National 4+ in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical Subject.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Interest in automotive maintenance and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• You will be based in a garage workshop and learn all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including servicing and MOT preparation.
• Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical systems and major components under supervision.
• Work with dedicated mentors from GTG and your workplace to complete the apprenticeship.
