Job summary

Bolton Council is offering an entry‑level Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering and Construction. The role focuses on learning practical skills across highways, drainage and traffic management, with on‑the‑job training and personalised mentorship.

You will rotate through teams, gain experience in feasibility, design and supervision, and be supported toward completing Level 4 or Level 6 apprenticeships. Passion and drive are welcomed; prior experience is not required.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Math and English at grade 4 or above.
• Relevant Level 3 qualification or 64 UCAS points or expected by Sep 2026.
• Must not already hold a level 6 qualification in related civil/engineering fields.

Responsibilities

• Learn on the job and assist with management of highways assets (highways, structures, drainage, traffic management).
• Rotate through teams to gain experience in engineering disciplines and asset management.
• Assist with feasibility studies, designs, contract documentation and supervision of contractors.
