Job summary

GTG Training are recruiting on behalf of First Bus for an Apprentice Bus Mechanic in their Aberdeen Depot.

Are you looking to kick-start an exciting career in engineering? As an Apprentice Bus Mechanic with First Bus, you'll learn from experienced technicians while gaining the skills and qualifications needed to build a successful career in the vehicle engineering industry.

You'll earn while you learn, working towards an SCQF Level 7 in Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, while gaining hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing some of the most modern bus fleets in the UK.

What will I do?

You'll work alongside experienced engineers, learning how to:

• Service, maintain and repair buses and coaches
• Carry out vehicle inspections and safety checks
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and vehicle system faults
• Remove and replace components
• Work on modern electric vehicle technology
• Follow health and safety procedures within the workshop

What will I learn?

You'll gain hands‑on experience while studying towards:
