Job summary

GTG Training Limited, recruiting on behalf of First Bus, is seeking an Apprentice Bus Mechanic in Caledonia, Scotstoun and Blantyre Depot. You'll learn from experienced technicians while gaining the qualifications and hands-on skills to build a career in vehicle engineering.

You will earn while you learn, working toward SCQF Level 7 Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, and gain experience maintaining modern bus fleets across the UK.

Qualifications

• Must have or expect to achieve National 4 English.
• Must have or expect to achieve National 4 Maths.
• Must have or expect to achieve National 4 in Science or Technical subject.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair buses and coaches.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and vehicle system faults.
• Remove and replace components.
• Work on modern electric vehicle technology.
• Follow health and safety procedures within the workshop.
