Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in London is hiring an Applied AI/ML Engineer - Associate to help deliver end-to-end cloud-native AI/ML solutions within the International Consumer Bank.

You'll work in squads on AI/LLM, prompt engineering, Python/SQL, and AWS/GCP, contributing production-ready code and collaborating with product owners and operations teams.

The role emphasizes experimentation, governance, and communicating complex trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL; write production-ready code.
• Experience with scikit-learn and either PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Practical DevOps mindset: CI/CD, testing, reproducibility, and operational awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain technical trade-offs clearly.
• Collaborative, curious, and comfortable working with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI/ML applications and services that improve customer experiences and increase operational efficiency.
• Work across the AI/ML delivery lifecycle: requirements, design, prototyping, evaluation, deployment support, monitoring, and iteration.
• Develop Python-based AI/ML solutions on AWS/GCP, producing production-ready code.
• Build and evaluate AI/LLM solutions, including prompt/RAG patterns and agentic workflows.
• Apply ML techniques to forecasting, segmentation/CLV, causal inference, and other business problems.
• Analyse large datasets using SQL to generate insights and track impact.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams; produce documentation and presentations.
• Support governance activities, including model/data-use documentation and risk input.
