Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. in Lincoln is seeking a Configuration Engineer to join the Operations Planning and Scheduling team.

You will maintain and improve scheduling and mobility solutions used by field and scheduling colleagues, turning operational needs into practical configuration changes and ensuring releases are safe and reliable. Working in an Agile environment, you will collaborate with users, technical teams and application vendors to diagnose issues, perform testing, and deliver

Qualifications

• Educated to A-level standard or equivalent experience.
• Strong IT capability, with experience using SAP, Oracle and Microsoft applications.
• Strong data analytical skills; interpret data and identify insights.
• Strong Excel skills to analyse and present information.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining reports and dashboards.
• Ability to communicate data clearly to support decision-making.
• Experience configuring, supporting or improving business-critical applications or digital products.
• Experience of application testing, change control and working to governance.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
• Ability to organise priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Initiative and adaptability; work independently or in a team.
• Flexibility to support operational events when required.

Responsibilities

• Define issues with users and shape improvement opportunities.
• Configure approved changes within scheduling and mobile applications per governance.
• Carry out impact analysis to ensure value without reducing performance.
• Scope configuration work, estimate delivery effort and prioritise sprint/backlog.
• Prepare cost and benefit recommendations for governance approval.
• Translate requirements into practical configuration options.
• Test application upgrades and enhancements against scripts and change controls.
• Diagnose faults with developers and vendors and implement resolutions.
• Monitor enhancements to confirm benefits and suggest further changes.
• Build relationships with field teams and stakeholders and stay updated with new tech.
