Qualifications

Job description

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for application support and software testing? We’re looking for an Application Support & Test Analyst to join our dynamic IT team at Card Factory. You will support critical business applications and ensure high-quality software delivery across our supply chain and business development functions.

This dual-role opportunity involves maintaining the performance, availability, and security of our core systems, as well as leading test planning and execution across multiple platforms. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced retail environment.

Based at Junction 41 in Wakefield, with free parking and flexible, hybrid working options, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact. Colleagues are required to work in the office 1-2 days per week, with additional attendance as needed.

Role Responsibilities
  • Providing 2nd/3rd line support for key business applications across the Card Factory Group.
  • Investigating and resolving complex incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Supporting the delivery of IT projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Developing and executing test scenarios, cases, and scripts across various test phases.
  • Raising and managing defects, ensuring timely triage and resolution.
  • Maintaining technical documentation and sharing knowledge within the team.
  • Participating in an on-call rota to support out-of-hours incidents and test deployments.
  • Identifying operational improvement opportunities and supporting transition to cloud-based and automated solutions.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting ERP systems such as SAP S4/HANA or Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Familiarity with integration platforms (e.g., Dell Boomi, SSIS, EDI) and eCommerce systems (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in system testing across the software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and report on test activities independently.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to build stakeholder relationships.
