Job summary

AllPoints Fibre Networks in Reading is seeking an Application Specialist to support, maintain, and optimise critical business applications across cloud and on-prem environments. You will own the application lifecycle, work with IT, Cyber Security, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant services that enable APFN's growth.

The role requires four+ years of experience, strong knowledge of Atlassian tools, API orchestration, identity management, and SLA-driven support.

Qualifications

• Four or more years' experience supporting business-critical applications within complex technology environments.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Experience with API orchestration and integration design.
• Strong understanding of application support, service management, and continuous improvement principles.
• Proven expertise as a subject matter expert for Atlassian tools, particularly Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and application-related issues.
• Knowledge of user provisioning, identity management, and SSO/SAML technologies.
• Experience working in SLA-driven support and ticketing environments.
• Strong business analysis and requirements gathering skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support critical business applications across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Collaborate with IT, stakeholders, and vendors to meet operational requirements.
• Oversee the application lifecycle from design to optimisation and maintenance.
• Configure, test, and implement software updates and enhancements.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost service delivery and performance.
• Monitor service performance and produce reports in line with ITIL standards.
• Maintain system and architecture documentation.
• Define acceptance criteria for development teams.
• Act as subject matter expert for Atlassian tools and advising on workflows.
