Job summary

Zinc in London is seeking an Analytics Lead to join Core Operations. You will turn raw data into a clean, trustworthy foundation and own the data modelling and BI layer used across the business.

You’ll report to the Head of Operations and collaborate with Commercial Ops Lead, Customer Lead, and the data engineering team. The role starts as individual contributor with potential to lead a small team in 2027.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and data modelling experience.
• Comfortable owning a BI tool (Sigma) as the organisation's single source of truth.
• Track record turning ambiguous business questions into clean, reproducible data answers.
• Applied statistics: trend and anomaly detection, cohort and retention analysis; forecasting/survival is a plus.
• People management potential: ready to grow a small team of analysts next year.

Responsibilities

• Turn a stated problem into a clear, reproducible metric.
• Own data modelling and transformation layer; maintain BI as single source of truth.
• Write SQL and build data models; work with data engineering on the warehouse.
• Maintain high data quality and prevent reporting issues.
• Define thresholds for trends/anomalies and alert business leads when necessary.
• Grow into managing a small team as the function scales.
