Job summary

Abzena in Cambridge (UK) seeks an analytical scientist at Scientist II level to join the busy Analytics group. In this lab-based role you will work with a team on client-facing projects and learn new techniques in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has a PhD or MSc in Analytical Science, Protein Chemistry/ Biochemistry or related field with strong laboratory skills.
• Knowledge and practical experience of chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques for small molecules, biologics and bioconjugates.
• Experience in an industrial or commercial environment preferred; SEC-MALS and mass spectrometry are assets.

Responsibilities

• Design and carry out routine and complex experiments as necessary.
• To perform and develop complex/novel analytical methods under supervision.
• Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Manage own work schedule to ensure tasks are met within the expected timeframe.
• Analyse and interpret your own data.
• Be responsible for the quality of your own work.
• Prepare data for, contribute to the drafting of reports and presentations.
• Contribute to internal and client meetings.
• Draft and contribute to Quality and Controlled documents.
• Undertake any other duties relevant to the position and level.
