Job summary

Xtrac is seeking an Analysis Engineer to combine CAE analysis with fundamental engineering to verify transmission systems. You will report to the Head of Analysis and Simulation and collaborate with the design team to ensure the gear trains meet exact specifications.

You will work on gears, bearings, lubrication systems, and perform FE analysis (ANSYS) and one-/three-dimensional simulations using Romax, AMESIM, and Particleworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, automotive or aerospace discipline.
• Postgraduate degrees such as MSc/MEng/PhD welcome.
• Experience with CAE tools and simulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAE analysis to verify transmission systems.
• Write technical reports communicating findings and conclusions.
• Support gear manufacture by specifying gear cutting tooling and advising on non-conformance.
• Evaluate gearbox structures for strength and stiffness.
• Collaborate with design team to ensure specifications are met.
