Job summary

Executive Network Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer – AMR Champion for a busy automotive manufacturing environment in Telford, UK. You will maintain Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and support plant equipment to maximise uptime and product quality.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will apply 5S in the maintenance area, carry out root cause analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement projects while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical and electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum City & Guilds craft qualification / NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
• Experience fault-finding from electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic schematics.
• Willingness to develop a multi-skilled maintenance skillset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues.
• Experience of 5S.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Ensure AMR and equipment availability meets departmental targets.
• Carry out root cause analysis on repeat and major breakdowns and provide reports with recommended improvements.
• Identify and implement improvements to prevent recurring equipment issues.
• Support planned preventative maintenance (PM) schedules and recommend improvements.
• Provide technical support to internal customers, including non-breakdown-related issues.
• Ensure all health, safety and environmental procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
• Maintain and improve equipment to support consistent product quality.
• Attend relevant training and work in accordance with company standards.
• Apply 5S methodology within the maintenance area and wider factory.
• Work towards departmental and company objectives.
• Support management with ad-hoc projects as required.
• Promote and adhere to health, safety and environmental policies throughout the department and plant.
