Job summary

Honeywell in central belt Scotland invites a Smart Meter Engineer to deliver technical support and service maintenance for smart metering and AMI at customer sites. The role covers Scotland-wide travel as needed.

You will work with customers to understand requirements, configure and validate metering solutions, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful deployments while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a field-based engineering, technical support, or maintenance role.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent customer-facing and relationship-building skills, with confidence in delivering technical guidance and support.
• Hands-on, self-motivated engineer able to work independently and across remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, training, and workshops to customers on operation, maintenance, and optimisation of smart water metering.
• Deliver second-line technical support by investigating and resolving smart metering and AMI incidents, remotely and in the field.
• Collaborate with production, logistics, and third-party technology providers to configure, deploy, and deliver metering and telecommunications equipment.
• Support testing, pilot installations, proof-of-concept projects, and end-to-end solution validation to achieve customer approval and successful project implementation.
• Contribute to continuous product improvement by providing technical feedback and staying informed of industry developments and best practices.
• Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues in a field-based engineering role.
