Job summary

EMED Group in Peterborough is seeking a compassionate Ambulance Care Assistant to support patients on journeys to and from medical facilities. Full-time, 40 hours per week, 4 days across Mon-Sun with early start windows (05:30–00:00).

You will drive patients, assist with transfers, and help with handovers to hospital staff, colleagues or family. A UK manual driving licence is essential, and you must be physically fit for patient handling; DBS check is company funded.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Able to work flexible shifts across Mon-Sun (05:30–00:00).
• Excellent communication and empathy with patients and relatives.
• Physically fit for manual handling and patient transfers.
• DBS check will be completed (company funded).

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from medical appointments and between facilities.
• Assist with lifting, securing and moving patients in and out of ambulances.
• Hand over patients to hospital staff or family as appropriate.
• Maintain ambulance cleanliness, safety and readiness for service.
