Job summary

EMED Group in Swindon is seeking Ambulance Care Assistants to help patients with dignity and compassion. You will drive patients between appointments and care facilities, support end-of-life transport, and work flexible shifts across early mornings to late evenings.

Full training is provided; a valid UK manual driving licence (6 points max) and good fitness for patient handling are required. No ambulance experience needed; DBS check funded by the company.

Qualifications

• Valid UK manual driving licence (6 points maximum)
• Ability to work flexible shifts across 05:30am–00:00, Mon-Sun
• Commitment to patient care
• Effective communication and empathy in emotional situations
• Physically fit for patient handling and moving
• Enhanced DBS check (company funded)

Responsibilities

• Assist in transporting patients to appointments and between facilities
• Support with end-of-life transport with empathy and professionalism
• Help with lifting, securing and transferring patients in/out of ambulances
• Hand over patients to staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends
• Keep ambulance clean, safe and ready for use
• Build rapport with patients and relatives through clear communication
