Job summary

EMED Group is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant to serve the local community and join the Ambulance Service as part of our Crewe crew on a bank (0 hour) contract.

You will help transport elderly and vulnerable service users to appointments and between facilities, show empathy in end-of-life care, and work closely with families and hospital staff. A full UK manual driving licence and Enhanced DBS are required; uniform is provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with less than 6 penalty points.
• Committed to patient care.
• Effective communicator in emotional circumstances.
• Calm, considerate driver and good team player.
• Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded).
• Familiar with the local area.

Responsibilities

• Transporting elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from appointments and between healthcare facilities.
• Assisting in transporting end-of-life service users with empathy.
• Communicating effectively with patients and relatives.
• Helping with patient handling and transfers from beds to stretchers or chairs.
• Handing over patients to staff on arrival at centres or to family members.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy ambulance.
