Alternative SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Chipping Sodbury


Salary: £93 - £105 per day


Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm


Contract: Term Time Only


Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision setting in Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to build a rewarding career in education while making a difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.


About the Role

As an Alternative SEN Provision Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teaching and support staff to provide tailored support to learners who may require additional academic, emotional or behavioural support. You will play an important role in creating a safe and engaging environment where every learner has the opportunity to thrive.


Key Details


  • Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant

  • Special Educational Needs (SEN) support work

  • Cheltenham based

  • Start ASAP

  • £80-£95 per day (Depending on Experience)

  • Term time only

  • Clear DBS (or willingness to apply)


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to a range of learners across the day.

  • Support learners with their learning, development and engagement.

  • Support the delivery of targeted interventions and personalised activities.

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with learners.

  • Encourage continued positive behaviour choices, confidence and independence.

  • Monitor learner progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Help maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment for all.

  • Follow all policies and procedures on a daily basis.


An Enhanced DBS check is required, or you must be willing to apply for one.
