Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Corby. Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Corby. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education.

The successful candidate will provide support to students with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them re-engage with education, develop positive relationships, and overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

• Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Assisting with classroom activities and learning.
• Supporting students with behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Encouraging engagement, confidence, and positive attitudes towards education.
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support individual needs.
• Helping to maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with young people in education, care, youth work, support work, or a similar setting.
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Confident supporting students with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and succeed.
• Psychology graduates, youth workers, support workers, and aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply.
