Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school setting in Corby, Northamptonshire. The role focuses on students who need additional support with learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

You will work closely with teachers to foster a calm, positive environment, build trust with learners and help them re-engage with education. Prior experience with SEMH or mentoring is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, ideally in education, care, youth work or mentoring.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient.
• Calm and consistent approach to behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students.
• Support pupils with SEMH, behavioural and additional needs.
• Help students re-engage with learning and education.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Support students inside and outside the classroom.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to support individual students.
• Help create a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment.
