Job description

SEI is seeking to hire an Operations Alternative Specialist in our SEI Wealth Platform Business. The SEI Wealth Platform (the Platform) is an outsourcing solution for wealth managers encompassing wealth processing services and wealth management programs, combined with business process expertise. With the Platform, SEI provides wealth management organizations with the infrastructure, operations, and administrative support necessary to capitalize on their strategic objectives in a constantly shifting market. The Platform supports trading and transactions on 156 stock exchanges in 58 countries and 51 currencies, through the use of straight-through processing and a single operating infrastructure environment. What you will do:
  1. Provide critical input to the definition of the requirements, processes, and controls that will shape the operational model that underpins the SEI Alternatives service.

  2. Operate and enhance the operational procedures, processes, and controls in the Alternatives service, whilst undertaking the day-to-day operational activities.

  3. Apply your specialist Private Equities / Credit and Hedge Funds knowledge, combined with your knowledge of the service and the systems to support the ongoing business.

  4. Handle complex query analysis and resolution, including client queries & internal issues.

  5. Support the preparation, monitoring, and reporting on the RCSA (risk & control self-assessment) for teams in the UK Private Banking unit (including Operations, SWP, and Technology), feeding into the SIEL firm-wide RCSA. Responsibilities include:

    1. Supporting the development, monitoring, and maintenance of risk registers.

    2. The development and analysis of key risk indicators.

    3. Key control testing and assessment.

    4. Monitoring and reporting of operational risk events.

    5. Working closely with the business and control functions to identify risks.

    6. Undertaking and reporting on operational risk trend analysis.

    7. Planning, reporting, and tracking remediation plans/actions related to gaps in RCSA.

    8. Challenging the framework to ensure it remains fit for purpose as business demands evolve.

  • Prepare or support the preparation of root cause analyses of operational risk events within the Incident management reporting tool.

  • Continuously monitor processes and procedures to ensure controls are appropriate and maintained at levels agreed with management and clients where applicable.

  • Contribute to and implement SIEL’s Operational Resilience framework in line with regulatory requirements from the Bank of England, FCA, and PRA. Responsibilities include:

    1. Interpreting regulatory expectations on Operational Resilience frameworks.

    2. Identifying existing frameworks and policies constituting the Operational Resilience framework.

    3. Mapping important business services and products to people, processes, technology, third parties, facilities, and information.

    4. Validating impact tolerances for critical services and testing scenarios.

    5. Maintaining communication plans for service disruptions.

    6. Conducting operational resilience training for staff.

    7. Continuously improving the resilience framework.

  • Ensure resilience risks are identified, reported, and addressed through plans involving Business and IT Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Cyber Security, Third Party Risk, and Change Management.

  • Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery arrangements, including testing and updates to impact assessments and plans.

  • Lead and contribute to management reporting on operational risk, resilience, and processing.

  • Participate in ad hoc projects as required.

  • All employees are responsible for risk identification, assessment, and control, maintaining understanding of policies, procedures, and risk tolerances, and escalating incidents appropriately.

  • What we need from you:
    1. BA/BS degree or equivalent in related field.

    2. Experience with alternative assets and their characteristics.

    3. Knowledge of the investment processing industry.

    4. Ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve results.

    5. Strong business writing skills.

    6. Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.

    7. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
