Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream primary school in Abergavenny, seeking an ALN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP. The TA will provide one-to-one support to a pupil with behavioural needs, helping them regulate behaviour and re-engage with learning.

Applicants should have primary school experience, a patient and resilient approach, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils in primary settings.
• Experience supporting learners with behavioural needs.
• Ability to provide one-to-one support in or out of the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with behavioural needs.
• Help pupil re-engage with learning and stay on task throughout the day.
• Support positive behaviour and inclusivity during school activities.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Abergavenny that is looking to appoint an ALN Teaching Assistant. The school is seeking a supportive and patient individual who can help provide a positive and inclusive learning environment for a pupil with behavioural needs.

The school is looking to take on an ALN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis starting ASAP. The successful ALN Teaching Assistant will provide one-to-one support for a child with behavioural needs who may leave the classroom, helping them to regulate their behaviour, re-engage with learning and access appropriate activities throughout the school day.

The successful ALN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children in a primary school or similar educational setting
• Experience supporting children with behavioural needs
• Experience providing one-to-one support
• Confidence supporting a child both inside and outside of the classroom
• A patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
