Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants to support learners with ALN and SEN in Further Education across South Wales, including Usk. You will work 1:1 or in small groups, in collaboration with lecturers to help learners access academic, vocational and practical programmes.

The role requires adaptability, building confidence and independent living skills, plus using positive behaviour support and de-escalation when needed. EWC registration is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in education, youth work, care or similar settings is desirable.
• EWC registration or willingness to obtain is required.

Responsibilities

• Support learners with ALN, SEN, SEMH and complex needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Work with lecturers to help learners access academic, vocational and practical courses.
• Help learners develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.
• Apply positive behaviour support and appropriate de-escalation strategies.
• Build professional relationships with learners and adapt approaches to needs.
