Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking experienced ALN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil and Caerphilly. Work may be 1:1 or in small groups, with a focus on challenging behaviour and ALN needs.

Applicants should have ALN/SEN experience and be comfortable in demanding environments. Roles are available full-time or part-time until the end of the academic year, with various local school assignments and guidance from a dedicated consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience in ALN/SEN or challenging behaviour
• Ability to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ALN and behavioural needs
• Support pupils displaying challenging, distressed or dysregulated behaviour
• Help pupils regulate emotions and access learning
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual support strategies
• Encourage pupils to build confidence, independence and positive relationships
• Support diverse needs including ASD/ADHD and communication challenges
• Follow individual behaviour plans and maintain a safe learning environment
