Job summary
BMT in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Author Illustrator to support high-quality technical projects and documentation services from our Weymouth or Bath offices, with hybrid working options. Travel to customer sites will be required.
The role requires proven experience in technical authoring within defence or engineering, familiarity with S1000D and Simplified Technical English, and the ability to guide content creation and content pilots.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in technical authoring and documentation.
- Practical knowledge of S1000D and Simplified Technical English.
- Understanding UK MoD documentation standards.
- Experience with 2D/3D illustration content.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and publishing tools.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain technical reports, templates, and project documentation.
- Support scoping and pricing of project tasks.
- Lead small project teams to deliver tasks.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and communicate progress.
