Job Description

Our well-known client based in Hayes is looking for an Exports Operations Specialist with AOG Nights (7pm - 7am), offering a salary of £31K-£33K plus shift pay (approximately £4K per annum). As an Aerospace Export Operations Specialist, you will use your talents to create innovative solutions and shape the future across our business. Join a dynamic team that undertakes a range of activities to support the overall Life Science Sector for the London Station.

Key Activities:

1. Export of Aerospace-related shipments including AOGs, Engines, & licensed goods
2. Booking the best Air Freight options for our customers to ensure prompt delivery to worldwide destinations
3. Working closely with Transport departments to enable timely and cost-effective collection
4. Adhering to Customs Compliance procedures and documentation
5. Managing and building customer relationships
6. Completing retrospective Customs compliance actions
7. Handling Customs entry for Specialist License movements
8. Ensuring the Job File is fully and accurately completed, reflecting all commercially relevant information and services provided
9. Liaising directly with Carriers and Handling Agents to resolve exceptions and discrepancies
10. Collaborating with other departments on shipment planning and coordination
11. Coordinating with overseas offices on shipment planning
12. Maintaining and updating all compliance documentation
13. Updating mandatory milestones and remarks through Cargowise (internal system)

In this role, you’ll leverage your skills to support a culture of continuous improvement and foster strong relationships within the industry. Knowledge of Aerospace/AOG movements is preferred but not necessary.

Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years experience within the Freight Forwarding Industry
• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above – or equivalent
• Experience of HMRC procedures for Export
• Commercial awareness
• Clear and concise communication skills (written and spoken)
• Ability to follow processes
• Supporting a culture of continuous improvement
• Interpersonal skills: influencing, communication, relationship management, cultural awareness, and teamwork
• Knowledge of Freight Forwarding industry: exports and related processes
• Knowledge of Aerospace/AOG movements is preferred but not necessary
