Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in Manchester is seeking an Air Logistics Operational Care Specialist to coordinate shipments, bookings, and documentation with accuracy and timeliness. You will support cross-functional teams, monitor deviations, and ensure customer transit times are met.

The role requires experience in airfreight, strong MS Office skills, and excellent time management. Shift pattern includes on-site hours with weekend coverage in a dynamic logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all operational activities reliably, on time and accurately.
• Follow the defined communication concept to stakeholders.
• Monitor shipments and provide timely updates, including costs.
• Review customer instructions for regulatory, routing or rate discrepancies.
• Immediately report problems or discrepancies to supervisors.
• Collaborate with partners, gateways, warehouses, and customs teams.
• Monitor carrier performance and raise awareness when commitments are not met.
• Support process improvements with the Optimization Team.

We are looking for a highly motivated Air Logistics Operational Care Specialist to join us in our Manchester office. You will be responsible for managing the coordination of shipments accurately and timely, meeting customer transit time requiremenents.The Operational Care Specialist is part of a team (Operational Care Centers) responsible for coordinating transport activities by executing the necessary bookings with our partners and gateways, generating the required documentation, and monitoring each shipment, including deviation handling.

How you create impact

• Manage and perform all operational activities reliably, accurately and on-time, minimizing overdue tasks, and according to defined customer deliverables
• Follow the communication concept for effective communication with stakeholders
• Monitor shipments, follow up on all deviations, accurate and timely updates for visibility in KN systems, including financial data, such as costs
• Review and clarify customer instructions if there are conflicts or deviations with regulatory requirements, routing, TT, rate information, or other discrepancies
• Immediately report problems, operational disputes or discrepancies to supervisors or managers
• Collaborate with all partners/suppliers, gateway, warehouse, customs teams, the RCC, and external parties as needed
• Monitor operational performance of carriers and other partners and elevate / create awareness if performance and commitments are not being delivered
• Collaborate with the Optimization Team for most effective process execution and systems setup/automation, maximizing systems utilization and avoiding manual processes is critical

What we would like you to bring

• Experience in either freight forwarding or transport planning with key focus on airfreight
• Ability to understand and execute new processes
• Excellent knowledge of MS office features, especially excel
• Very good time management skills with the ability to set priorities, fulfil critical tasks in time and keep to deadlines
• Perseverance and resistant to challenge

This position is in shifts: From Tuesday until Friday 11.30am until 8pm on site, Saturday 9 am until 5.30 pm home office.
