Job summary

Right Now Group in Sunbury-on-Thames is seeking an Air Import Clerk to join our freight forwarding team and manage air import processes from quotation to booking and regulatory compliance.

You will train and mentor colleagues, liaise with customers, warehouses and customs officials, and contribute to bringing the import function fully in-house. Salary £35,000–£40,000, Mon-Fri, 09:00–17:30.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of Air Import experience
• Ability to handle quotations, bookings, and full import processes independently
• Knowledge of Sequoia and NCTS systems desirable
• Break-bulk experience advantageous
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of mentoring others

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete import files to required company standards
• Monitor and action import-related emails in a timely manner
• Handle import entries and ensure regulatory compliance
• Issue import quotations and take bookings directly with customers
• Produce collection and delivery notes
• Liaise daily with customers, warehouses, and customs officials to ensure smooth operations
• Manage ERTS (Enhanced Remote Transit Shed) processes
• Check, calculate, and charge storage costs accurately
• Oversee charging and costing of import jobs
• Provide support, guidance, and training to colleagues on import processes

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Air Import Clerk who is confident in handling Air Imports and capable of training and developing others as the company looks to bring their import function fully in-house.
