Job summary

Expeditors in the United Kingdom is seeking a UK-based Air Import coordinator to ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while delivering exceptional customer service in the Air Import department.

The role involves data entry into our operating system, coordinating with airlines and warehouses, and ensuring compliance with OPS and regulatory requirements. Expect a 4 days on / 4 days off pattern from 6am to 6pm, with some weekend and bank holiday work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
• Enter data accurately into the operating system.
• Process pre-alerts from overseas origins.
• Monitor shipments in transit to arrival.
• Update event codes in the import system.
• Liaise with airlines, sheds, drivers and warehouse staff.
• Create records for shipments in our customs facility.
• Settle consoles with overseas offices.
• Maintain relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, etc.).
• Meet compliance with OPS and government or customer policies.

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while providing an exceptional customer service within the Air Import department by completing the following tasks:

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
• Processpre alerts from overseas origins
• Monitor/trackshipments in transit to arrival
• Timely updateevent codes in the import system
• Liaisewith airlines and sheds for any discrepancies
• Liaisewith collection drivers and the warehouse team
• Createrecords for shipments in our customs facility
• Settlement of consoles with overseas offices.
• Contribute to maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, and others).
• Meet compliance at all times to regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer’s policies / requirements.
• Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.

The successful applicant will work the following shift pattern:

4 days on 4 days off 6am - 6pm, As part of this rota, some weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required.
