Job summary

Yorkshire Contractor Solutions is seeking a part-time Air Conditioning Engineer in West Yorkshire. The role combines on-site client work with planning, reporting and remote support.

You will maintain, diagnose and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, assist with installation and commissioning, and document work for clients. The position includes routine service visits, safety compliance and occasional out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

• HVAC installation, maintenance, fault-finding and repair experience.
• Experience in building maintenance and building services in commercial/industrial environments.
• Knowledge of FM practices and maintenance & repair processes for building systems.
• Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations including F-gas where applicable.
• Ability to interpret drawings and manuals, and use diagnostic tools.
• Good communication and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across West Yorkshire and surrounding region.

Role Description This part-time Air Conditioning Engineer role is based in West Yorkshire with a hybrid working pattern, combining on-site work at client locations with some work from home for planning, reporting, and remote support tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems, as well as supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment. The role involves conducting routine service visits, performing system checks, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards. The Air Conditioning Engineer will work closely with the wider team to support commercial refurbishment projects, provide clear documentation of work carried out, and communicate effectively with clients regarding system performance and recommendations. The position may also include occasional out-of-hours work to respond to urgent maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair.
• Experience in Building Maintenance and Building Services within commercial or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of Facility Management (FM) practices and Maintenance & Repair processes for building systems.
• Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical/electrical engineering.
