Air Conditioning Engineer - Yorkshire

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join a busy facilities management team, providing planned, reactive and proactive maintenance across commercial sites throughout Yorkshire.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer who is confident working independently on air conditioning systems, with a good understanding of associated electrical systems and building services.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete PPM, proactive and reactive maintenance within agreed SLAs.
- Inspect, fault find, repair and modify air conditioning systems, including compressors, chillers, controls and associated electrical components.
- Carry out first-line reactive maintenance on electrical and switchgear systems.
- Complete electrical works including motors, wiring systems, timers and control panels.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, F-Gas, Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work, COSHH and Risk Assessments.
- Manage contractor activities, monitor workmanship and issue Permits to Work where required.
- Ensure plant, equipment and surrounding areas meet required performance and company standards.
- Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota, minimum 1 in 4, with occasional planned night works.
About You
- Proven experience working independently as an Air Conditioning Engineer across commercial environments.
- Strong background in HVAC, air conditioning or refrigeration maintenance.
- Experienced in fault finding, installation, servicing, repair, PPM and reactive maintenance.
- Good understanding of electrical fundamentals and low-voltage distribution.
- Comfortable travelling across Yorkshire as required.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Full UK driving licence.
