Job summary

Smart Search Technical Ltd. is seeking an experienced service and maintenance engineer to perform planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, fault diagnosis, and repairs across Kent, London and the Home Counties.

You will handle reactive call-outs, complete reports, and may require occasional overnight stays. The role requires driving a full UK license, independent work on customer sites, and strong customer service skills.

Job description

Location: Kent, London & Home Counties
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 DOE
Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The role will involve planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and reactive call-outs, with occasional travel to sites further afield including Brighton, Bristol and Oxford.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Attend reactive call-outs and breakdowns
• Fault finding and diagnosis
• Repairs and remedial works
• Complete service reports and job sheets
• Travel across Kent, London and the Home Counties
• Occasional overnight stays where required

About You

• Previous experience in a service and maintenance engineering role
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills

• Relevant technical qualifications are desirable
• Full UK driving licence

Call-Out & Overtime

• Current call-out rota 1 in 4, moving towards 1 in 5
• £100 retaining fee for each week on call, whether called out or not
• Overtime available
• Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
• Overnight overtime paid at 2x hourly rate
• Stay-away allowance paid when required
• Door-to-door travel time is not normally paid; travel time is only considered payable where an engineer is required to return to the office before travelling home

Package

• £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience
• Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
• Regular work across Kent, London and the Home Counties
