Vibrant Recruits Ltd is seeking an experienced Commercial Air Conditioning & HVAC Engineer to service, maintain, repair and commission systems across Peterborough, Cambridge and surrounding areas. The salary ranges £45,000-£60,000 with door-to-door travel paid at time and a half, plus a company van and excellent benefits.

You will work independently across multiple customer sites, with potential to move into industrial refrigeration through additional training.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years' experience in Air Conditioning, HVAC, Refrigeration or related discipline.
• Valid F-Gas certification required.
• Strong commercial Air Con/HVAC experience with VRF/VRV knowledge.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, repairing and commissioning commercial Air Con, HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnosing faults with effective troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Responding to breakdowns and service calls.
• Carrying out refrigerant recovery and charging per F-Gas regulations.
• Producing service reports and communicating findings to customers and management.
• Maintaining health and safety standards and supporting junior engineers.

Are you an experienced Commercial Air Conditioning & HVAC Engineer looking for a role where your skills are properly rewarded?

This is a genuinely varied role where no two days are the same. You'll work across a diverse range of commercial sites, servicing different equipment and supporting customers throughout Peterborough, Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

The Role

You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing and commissioning commercial air conditioning, HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple customer sites.

The environments are varied and can include pharmaceutical facilities, offices, council sites, nurseries, care homes, cafés, theatres, factories and other commercial premises.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Servicing, maintaining, repairing and commissioning commercial Air Con, HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective troubleshooting and system diagnostics
• Completing planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Responding to breakdowns and service calls
• Carrying out refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak detection and charging in accordance with F-Gas regulations
• Completing service reports and communicating findings clearly to customers and management
• Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, reliability and energy efficiency
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety and compliance
• Supporting junior engineers or apprentices when required

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally be a commercially experienced engineer with a strong practical understanding of air conditioning, HVAC systems, controls and associated equipment.

You will need:

• 3 - 5 years' experience in Air Conditioning, HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Valid F-Gas certification
• Strong commercial Air Con and HVAC experience
• Experience with split, multi-split, VRF/VRV and associated HVAC equipment
• Good refrigeration principles, fault-finding and diagnostic knowledge
• Experience carrying out both PPM and reactive breakdown work
• The ability to work independently across multiple customer sites
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A professional approach to health and safety
• A full UK driving license

Experience working across offices, retail, hospitality, leisure, healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial or other commercial environments would be highly advantageous.

Additional qualifications such as IPAF, electrical testing, CSCS, Asbestos Awareness or Ladder Card would also be beneficial.
