Job summary

Tech-People is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join our mobile team across Merseyside, Chester and Manchester. The role involves maintaining a varied portfolio of commercial and industrial sites, with a mix of AC and refrigeration equipment.

The package includes a £45,000 basic salary, door-to-door travel pay, a £140 weekly standby, a company van, fuel card and 25 days holidays; there are opportunities to increase earnings through callouts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' commercial AC & refrigeration service/maintenance experience.
• Level 2 F-Gas & ODS Regulations - Category 1.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with VRV/VRF systems, CO₂ refrigeration.
• Full and clean UK Driving Licence; DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance for commercial sites.
• Servicing and breakdowns on HVAC systems.
• Reactive repairs and fault-finding.
• Maintenance of VRV/VRF air conditioning and CO₂ refrigeration systems.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and build customer relationships on site.

The Role

As an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping a varied portfolio of commercial sites across Merseyside, Chester and Manchester running efficiently.

You'll be carrying out:

• Planned preventative maintenance
• Servicing and breakdowns
• Reactive repairs
• Fault-finding and diagnostics
• Maintenance of commercial air conditioning systems
• Working predominantly on VRV / VRF systems
• Servicing and maintaining CO₂ refrigeration systems
• Identifying faults and providing effective repairs
• Ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently
• Building strong relationships with customers on site

You’ll also join a 1-in-5 callout rota, with £140 guaranteed standby per week, giving you the opportunity to earn considerably more alongside your basic salary.

What We're Looking For

• Level 2 F-Gas & ODS Regulations - Category 1
• Minimum 3 years' commercial AC & refrigeration service/maintenance experience
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience with commercial VRV/VRF systems
• Refrigeration experience, ideally including CO₂
• Hydrocarbon ticket would be advantageous but isn't essential
• Full and clean UK Driving Licence
• Able to pass a DBS check
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach
• Someone who takes pride in their workmanship and wants to progress
