Job summary

FRONTrunner Recruitment Ltd is seeking an air conditioning business development engineer to spearhead a new department and develop services for an established client base in Devon. You will engage with existing clients, conduct site surveys, price jobs and coordinate installations, maintenance or repairs.

The role involves travel across Devon with some office time in Paignton and plans to grow a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Experience working on air conditioning equipment including splits, multi-splits, VRV/VRF, and ideally air source heat pumps.
• Strong written and spoken English with excellent people skills.
• Driven to set up and grow an air conditioning division for the company.

Responsibilities

• Reach out to the existing 6,000+ clients to identify air conditioning opportunities.
• Attend site surveys, price work, and arrange installations, maintenance contracts, or repairs.
• Work on splits/multi-splits with VRV/VRF and air source heat pumps.
• Cover Devon with time split between Paignton office and on the road.
• Grow the team and run the department with mentoring from the MD.

With the rise in air conditioning, this commercial heating company is setting up an air conditioning department. They are based in mid Devon have been trading for many years and count over 500 clients who use them on a yearly basis. They are family run and their biggest selling point is that they treat their engineers like part of that family - you are a person, you are NEVER a number. They are recruiting for an air conditioning business development engineer

• Initially speaking with their existing 6000 clients on their database to see what air conditioning work the company could do for them
• Once a company is interested you would attend a site survey, price the work and then do the work - this could be for an installation, maintenance contracts or even just explaining rates for future repairs when needed
• Working on splits and multi splits mostly with some VRV, VRF and air source heat pumps work
• Covering Devon -time split between being office based in Paignton (TQ postcode) and out on the road
• You would then grow the team, take on new staff and run the department to your standards - help and mentorship from the MD will always be there for you

Skills Needed to be an air conditioning business development engineer

• Living within travelling distance to their office in Paignton (TQ postcode) in Devon
• Good time served experience working on air conditioning equipment, splits, multi splits, VRV, VRF and ideally air source heat pumps
• Good written and spoken English with excellent people skills and be able to build rapport with people
• Be a driven person to set up an air conditioning division for the company and see this as a long term prospect for your career

Salary and Benefits of an air conditioning business development engineer

• 40-45k basic
