Job summary

Oxford Economics is seeking a Software Developer to join the AI-focused Technology team in London. The role is hands-on, with responsibility to design, build, and ship AI-enabled software and tools for internal and client-facing use.

You will collaborate with economists, product owners, and data teams to operationalize AI capabilities. You will work on agents, retrieval pipelines, and safe, scalable AI platforms, growing into embedding with content, data and models teams as you contribute to

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience shipping production software in a modern cloud environment.
• Solid engineering fundamentals: testing, version control, code review, modular design.
• Proficiency in C# and TypeScript; APIs through to lightweight UIs.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services (Azure) and CI/CD.
• Experience with LLMs, prompting, embeddings and RAG.
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production software that brings AI capabilities to OE: agents, RAG pipelines, interfaces, and client-facing features.
• Turn ideas from prototype to production across the software lifecycle: discovery, design, coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, cost monitoring, safe rollout.
• Build and operate services, agents, MCPs, shared libraries, Claude skills, and evaluation harnesses for OE's AI platform.
• Apply solid engineering practices: clean code, testing, modularity, performance, security.
