Job summary

idpp in Oxford is seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer to lead the design and deployment of AI-powered services. The role involves building robust LLM-based solutions, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent orchestration, with end-to-end ownership from concept through production.

You will mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions and champion best practices in AI-assisted software development while working in a hybrid environment with three days in the Oxford office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in AI software engineering with focus on AI/ML.
• Experience deploying AI in cloud environments.
• Proficiency with LLM tooling and LangGraph.
• Hands-on AWS deployment experience.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, EC2, ECS) and S3.
• CI/CD, Docker and infrastructure automation (Terraform/CFN).
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Experience leading projects or small teams.
• Excellent communication of AI concepts.
• Master’s or PhD in CS/AI.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI features from concept to deployment.
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines and agentic AI systems.
• Develop robust evaluation approaches to improve AI quality.
• Identify data sources and design scalable data pipelines.
• Deploy and scale AI solutions on AWS including serverless tech.
• Monitor production AI systems and improve performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on AI products.
• Provide technical leadership and contribute to architecture.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Promote innovation and operational excellence in the team.
• Encourage use of AI-assisted engineering tools and practices.
