Job summary
Lloyds Banking Group is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the AI Productivity Lab. You will steer hands-on engineering for agents, tooling and automation, embedding solutions into team SOPs and processes across multiple business areas.
The role focuses on delivering safe, scalable AI-driven productivity gains with strong technical leadership. You’ll collaborate with the Head of the Lab and the CTO Data & AI team to advance AI-enabled products, conduct applied research and drive measurable
Qualifications
- Experience delivering technology solutions to complex production environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of solutions architecture and automation.
- Experience with agentic coding and coworking ecosystems.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering of coworking solutions (agents, tools, automations) from prototype to MVP.
- Design reusable capabilities for platform and repository with adoption path.
- Evaluate options using agentic coding and open-source ecosystems to accelerate delivery.
- Partner with stakeholders to shape use cases and embed solutions into SOPs.
- Mentor engineers, review code and guide technical direction.
