Job summary

Amazon AWS is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer II to embed with enterprise customers, designing and deploying AI-powered production systems alongside customer teams. You will own end-to-end AI workstreams, from requirements to deployment, and coach others on delivering high-quality code.

You will design robust solutions, integrate foundation models and data sources, and optimize latency, reliability, and cost while traveling 30–50% to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
• Experience with agentic and spec-driven development (developing AI agents a plus) and AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Embed within customer engineering teams to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Build production AI applications powering AI and agentic workflows.
• Own production for your workstream including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment, operations, and maintenance.
• Mentor and uplift teammates through code reviews and training.
• Accelerate customer adoption by codifying reusable patterns and accelerators.
